Sea Island

Jekyll Island

Sea Island located just to the east of Saint Simons Island. It is a private, gated island having once the third wealthiest zip code in the nation. Founded by Howard Coffin from Ohio in 1924 and he always saw it as a tourist destination. For over seventy five years Sea Island has been a place for the wealthy to escape their everyday lives. In 2004 George W. Bush played host to the G-8 Summit which was held on Sea Island due to its inaccessibility and fantastic security. Sea Island has several restaurants and private clubs; it has fifty-four holes of impeccably maintained golf holes, five miles of pristine beaches, a spa, tennis courts, and of course riding stables.
